Zipwake Interceptor PRO Tunnel from the Series E PRO is specifically developed for boats with propeller tunnels.
This is a common solution on larger planing or semi-planing boats between 15 and 30 meters. Unlike, for example, the straight models, the tunnel version features a constant radius curvature that allows it to be mounted above the propeller tunnel itself. This means that even the portion of the hull that would otherwise not contribute to lift can now provide an effective boost to the boat’s stability and trim performance.
What is an interceptor?
An interceptor works as a modern alternative to traditional trim tabs. Instead of a large plate that folds down into the water, an interceptor uses a narrow blade that quickly extends just a few millimeters. This small movement creates immediate lift at the stern, allowing the boat to respond much faster compared to conventional trim tabs. The result is improved stability, faster trim adjustments, and reduced water resistance.
Zipwake PRO interceptors operate five times faster than previous models, delivering an entirely new level of performance and precision. With increased blade speed, moving from 0 to 30 or 60 mm in just 0.3 seconds, the system enables ultra-fast adjustments to changing conditions. With Active Pitch, Zipwake PRO automatically and instantly adjusts the boat’s trim to continuously maintain the user-selected running angle. Whether conditions change due to headwinds, tailwinds, crosswinds, or varying load distribution, the system works continuously to keep the boat in its optimal position. The result is improved acceleration, better visibility, increased stability, greater comfort, and reduced fuel consumption.
The interceptor features an integrated electric servo motor (SU-E PRO) that precisely controls the interceptor blade. It requires no calibration and is easy to replace if necessary. The motor provides a 60 mm stroke length, a speed of 200 mm/s, and full trim adjustment in just 0.3 seconds. It delivers sufficient power to operate the blades at speeds of up to 60 knots. The brushless servo motor operates on 36 V DC.
The interceptor comes with a three-meter cable and a self-sealing through-hull fitting, extendable up to six meters. It can be installed discreetly behind the interceptor or above the waterline, depending on installation preference. A protective cable cover is also included to ensure a clean and secure installation.
Interceptors in the Series E PRO are engineered to deliver stable and precise lift, which is especially noticeable on larger boats. The tunnel-shaped model is specifically designed for hulls with propeller tunnels, while the Series E PRO is also available in Chine-, Straight-, and Round-shaped versions to suit different hull geometries.
