Zipwake Interceptor PRO Intermediate from the Series S PRO is a smart choice when you need a smooth transition between different interceptor shapes, for example where a flat surface meets an angled chine. Series S PRO interceptors are designed for planing or semi-planing boats between 6 and 15 meters. This model is specifically shaped to connect sections where the transom is not completely even, helping to provide more consistent lift and improved stability both laterally and longitudinally. It is ideal when you want the system to perform as efficiently as possible, even on more complex hull designs.
What is an interceptor?
An interceptor works as a modern alternative to traditional trim tabs. Instead of a large plate that folds down into the water, an interceptor uses a narrow blade that quickly extends just a few millimeters. This small movement creates immediate lift at the stern, allowing the boat to respond much faster compared to conventional trim tabs. The result is improved stability, faster trim adjustments, and reduced water resistance.
Zipwake PRO interceptors operate five times faster than previous models, delivering an entirely new level of performance and precision. With increased blade speed, moving from 0 to 30 or 60 mm in just 0.3 seconds, the system enables ultra-fast adjustments to changing conditions. With Active Pitch, Zipwake PRO automatically and instantly adjusts the boat’s trim to continuously maintain the user-selected running angle. Whether conditions change due to headwinds, tailwinds, crosswinds, or varying load distribution, the system works continuously to keep the boat in its optimal position. The result is improved acceleration, better visibility, increased stability, greater comfort, and reduced fuel consumption.
The interceptor features an integrated electric servo motor (SU-S PRO) that precisely controls the interceptor blade. It requires no calibration and is easy to replace if necessary. The motor provides a 30 mm stroke length, a speed of 100 mm/s, and full trim adjustment in just 0.3 seconds. It delivers sufficient power to operate the blades at speeds of up to 60 knots. The brushless servo motor operates on 36 V DC.
The interceptor comes with a three-meter cable and a self-sealing through-hull fitting, extendable up to six meters. It can be installed discreetly behind the interceptor or above the waterline, depending on installation preference. A protective cable cover is also included to ensure a clean and secure installation.
Like the other interceptors in the Series S PRO, the Intermediate model operates with high precision and contributes to more even force distribution across the stern. While the Straight models are suited for flat surfaces and the angled or V-shaped versions are used for specific hull geometries, the Intermediate acts as the link between them. It is an essential component in systems where the stern changes shape and maximum stability and performance are required.
