The VE.Direct non-inverting remote on-off cable is used to remotely control BlueSolar and SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers. This cable allows the charger to be activated and deactivated depending on the incoming signal. The charger is activated when the signal on the cable is high and deactivated when the signal becomes low or is left disconnected.
Note that this cable is not needed for the larger SmartSolar models, as they already have a built-in remote on/off terminal. When using the cable, the VE.Direct port cannot be used for any other purpose, such as connection to a GX device or a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle.
On models that have a load output, such as 75/10, 75/15, 100/15, and 100/20, you must use the VictronConnect app to change the remote control setting. On other models, no settings need to be changed, as their VE.Direct RX pin is already set to remote control from the factory.
The cable includes a maximum input voltage of 70V and a minimum input voltage of approximately 6V to activate the charger. To turn off the charger, the input voltage must be less than 1V or disconnected.
This cable can also be used together with a VE.Bus BMS or smallBMS to ensure correct control of the solar charger in these systems.
