BEP Battery Switch Dual Operation Voltage Sensitive is an intelligent and automated solution for battery management in marine, vehicle, and industrial electrical systems. This Voltage Sensitive Switch (VSS) enables automatic combining or isolating of battery banks based on charging status and voltage, ensuring that both batteries are charged efficiently without risking the starter battery being drained.
When a charging source, such as an engine alternator or battery charger, is detected and the battery voltage reaches a certain level, the relay is activated and connects the other battery bank for charging. When charging stops and the voltage drops, the batteries are automatically isolated again, protecting the starter battery from being drained by consumption loads.
The unit is also equipped with a remote-controlled emergency switching function, which allows temporarily paralleling the batteries via a button on the dashboard. The function keeps the battery banks connected for 10 minutes, after which it remains active if the voltage is sufficiently high – otherwise, it automatically disconnects to protect the batteries.
The robust construction includes tinned copper conductors, stainless steel nuts, and heat-resistant, fiber-reinforced plastic components, ensuring long service life in harsh environments. The unit is spark-proof, can be mounted both flush or surface-mounted, and has a manual override function for extra safety and control.
