The VE.Direct TX digital output cable is used together with BlueSolar and SmartSolar MPPT chargers and supports multiple applications within solar energy systems. The cable is especially useful for solar lighting where it connects to an LED driver to dim the light and thereby reduce energy consumption. By dimming the lighting as needed, the total energy consumption can be significantly reduced, lowering system costs and increasing the availability of lighting, even when the battery is partially charged under poor weather conditions.
The cable connects the TX output on the VE.Direct connection on an MPPT charger with the PWM dimmer input on an LED driver or to a BatteryProtect or semiconductor relay to switch a load on or off. This function is particularly useful on larger MPPT chargers (such as MPPT 100/30 and larger) that do not have a built-in load output.
The cable can also be used to send pulses to an energy meter, enabling monitoring of how much solar energy has been generated. The function of the TX port can be easily configured via the VictronConnect app.
Note that the cable is not compatible with older, obsolete BlueSolar MPPT models that do not operate at night, such as SCC010030200 and SCC010050000. For these chargers, their successor models should be used.
