MultiPlus-II 48/4k5/55-32 230V is a combined inverter and battery charger with pure sine wave, designed for advanced electrical systems where grid, generator, and solar energy are used. This new model is equipped with ESS function (Energy Storage System), making it fully compatible with Victron's energy storage solutions, both for off-grid and on-grid use. Like previous models, it has the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions, which help limit AC load from, for example, a generator or shore power, and can temporarily boost the system with extra power from the battery during peak loads.
The difference from older MultiPlus or Quattro models is mainly that the MultiPlus-II is optimized for higher power per kilogram and volume, has better cooling at high temperatures, and is ready for more advanced integration with external systems. This model also has built-in anti-islanding protection, which is a requirement in some grid-connected installations, and support for VE.Bus communication, allowing it to be easily controlled and monitored via Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, or via Victron's free remote management portal VRM. The installation can be configured and monitored both locally and remotely.
As with previous models, up to six units can be connected in parallel to increase output power or be used in three-phase operation. It delivers 4500 VA continuous power (3600 W at 25 °C) and has a battery charger that provides up to 55 A to 48 V systems. It has a 32 A AC input and handles a wide input voltage range between 187–265 VAC. The charger is equipped with temperature compensation and works with both lead and lithium batteries.
The robust construction, IP21 rating, and operating range of -40 to +65 °C make the unit suitable even in demanding environments. Protection against short circuit, overvoltage, overheating, and low battery voltage is built-in. Like previous models, the MultiPlus-II is versatile, reliable, and flexible – but with improved performance, future-proof functionality, and increased efficiency for modern energy systems.
