Simrad RS20S is a user-friendly and reliable VHF radio suitable for both small and large boats. It is DSC Class D approved and has a built-in GPS receiver that allows your position to be sent out in an emergency. The radio has a sleek design that blends in with Simrad's other equipment and is perfect for both recreational and long-distance boats.
The RS20S is easy to use thanks to a large, clear screen that works in both daylight and darkness with a special night mode. A rotary knob makes it easy to change channels, and large buttons provide quick access to important functions. Both the radio and the handheld microphone have a button for direct access to emergency channel 16. Installation is flexible and can be done on a table, ceiling, or bulkhead with the included mounting bracket. There is also the option for flush mounting for a sleek look.
With the DSC function, you can quickly and easily contact other boats and alert in an emergency. The dedicated emergency button automatically sends your position to nearby vessels, increasing safety if something should happen. Thanks to the built-in GPS receiver, your position can be sent out even if other equipment is turned off.
The RS20S supports all international VHF channels and has a tri-watch function that allows you to monitor three channels simultaneously – channel 16, a selected priority channel, and your current channel. You can also scan through all available channels or just your favorite channels to stay updated.
The radio is built to withstand tough conditions with its waterproof IPX7 design and works excellently in all weather. It is also compatible with NMEA 2000®, making it easy to connect with other boat equipment.
