B&G V100-B VHF/AIS System + GPS-500 is an advanced marine radio that offers safety, communication, and reliable navigation at sea. Equipped with a Class B AIS transponder and a built-in GPS receiver, the V100-B enables you to both see and be seen by other AIS-equipped boats. It continuously transmits your boat position to surrounding vessels, helping to avoid collisions, especially in narrow waterways and harbors. The AIS information can be displayed on the radio's built-in screen or overlaid on a compatible chartplotter or radar, making real-time navigation easier.
The system comes with the GPS-500, an external GPS antenna that enhances AIS transmission and provides you with accurate and reliable positioning, which is crucial for onboard safety. By combining AIS reception and transmission with a powerful VHF radio, you get a comprehensive communication system that is not only reliable but also flexible.
The V100-B supports up to 8 handsets – 4 wired and 4 wireless – as well as up to 4 external speakers, providing full coverage onboard. This means you can stay connected and in touch anywhere on the boat. The wireless H60 handsets offer convenience through inductive charging and a large, easy-to-read screen visible in all lighting conditions. You also have access to important features such as channel scanning, alphanumeric keypad and favorites, as well as 60 seconds of audio replay, ensuring no important messages are lost.
The system also functions as an intercom onboard, making communication between crew members simple and efficient. With the ability to integrate with both NMEA 0183® and NMEA 2000®, installation is smooth and adaptable to your existing onboard systems. For extra flexibility, you can add additional speakers configurable with volume offset, giving you full control over sound levels in different parts of the boat.
With the Track Buddy feature, you can track up to 5 friends via their VHF-MMSI, which is an extra safety layer for boats traveling in groups or in the same area. The system also has an integrated DSC function approved according to Class D, giving you the ability to quickly send distress calls and your exact position in an emergency.
