Victron Energy LiFePO4 Battery 51.2V/100Ah NG belongs to the new NG series (Next Generation), which builds on the successful Lithium Smart series and introduces several important improvements. The battery offers an advanced and reliable energy storage solution with enhanced features and capacities, making it a key part of Victron Energy's future product program.
The NG series includes new features that enable additional readings of cell voltages and temperatures and expands the maximum size for a single battery bank to a full 385 kWh. The battery is available in voltages of 12, 24, and 48 V and has an IP65 rating, making it dust-tight and protected against low-pressure water jets. This makes it ideal for environments where exposure to dust and water can be an issue. Mounting options such as brackets and straps ensure easy and secure installation.
Victron Energy's Lithium-NG batteries are lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4 or LFP) with a nominal voltage of 51.2 V and a capacity of 100 Ah. The battery can be connected in series, parallel, and used in series/parallel to create battery banks with system voltages of 12, 24, or 48 V. The maximum number of batteries in a system is 50, providing a total energy storage of up to 384 kWh in a 48 V system.
The battery is equipped with a built-in shunt that transfers data such as battery voltage, current, and temperature to the BMS (battery management system). This enables automatic configuration, monitoring, and control via the VictronConnect app or a GX device and the VRM portal. The BMS unit is mandatory and manages all battery parameters automatically, including sensing the system voltage and number of batteries. With Bluetooth and advanced communication, you can see cell status, voltages, currents, and temperatures in real time and receive warnings in case of deviations. The battery's firmware is automatically updated by the BMS.
The battery also has improved self-discharge performance, with a self-discharge of less than 2% per month. With an efficiency of 92% and low capacity loss (less than 1% per 100 cycles at 100% DoD), this battery is excellent for long-term and intensive use. The cycle life is impressive with up to 5000 cycles at 50% DoD.
The operating temperature range is wide, from -20 °C to +50 °C during discharge and from +5 °C to +50 °C during charging. The storage temperature ranges from -45 °C to +70 °C, making the battery suitable for many different environments. The IP65 protection rating ensures it is robust even under demanding conditions.
The battery is easy to install thanks to mounting brackets that ensure it is securely fixed. Power connections via M8 threaded inserts and digital high-speed communication between the battery and BMS enable smooth system integration.
