RS40-B VHF Marine Kit with AIS transponder in class B and GPS-500 is a complete and reliable solution to ensure safe and efficient communication at sea. This VHF marine radio is equipped with a built-in AIS transponder in class B that allows you not only to receive AIS targets but also to transmit your boat position to other AIS-equipped vessels nearby. This makes your boat visible to others, whether it is day or night, reducing the risk of collisions, especially in crowded harbors and waterways. The AIS information can be displayed directly on the radio's screen or transferred to a compatible chart or radar display via a multifunction display.
For improved GPS performance, the RS40-B is delivered together with the GPS-500 antenna, ensuring accurate and reliable position information under all conditions. With this kit, you get optimal GPS coverage, which is crucial for navigation and emergencies.
The radio's detachable handheld microphone offers great installation flexibility, as it can be connected both on the front and back of the radio. If you want a tangle-free installation, the microphone and radio can be mounted separately using optional cables. This allows you to mount the radio in different locations, for example on the ceiling, while the microphone sits conveniently within reach on the panel below.
The RS40-B is also expandable with wireless handsets to provide even greater freedom of movement onboard. By adding one or two optional HS40 wireless handsets, you can remotely control the radio and use all functions from anywhere on the boat. The handsets duplicate the radio's display and controls and can also be used as an intercom system, making communication onboard smooth and efficient.
The RS40-B is DSC-approved according to class D, which means you can easily make emergency calls with your exact position, increasing safety at sea. The radio also has NMEA 0183® and NMEA 2000® connections, making it easy to integrate with other marine systems onboard. You can also add an optional megaphone or external speaker to improve sound distribution.
