NAC-3 Autopilot Computer is the central hub of your autopilot system and designed for boats over 10 meters (35 feet). It handles steering and interacts with other important onboard components, making it ideal for larger boats requiring stronger steering systems. This autopilot computer is capable of controlling high-power pumps, mechanical actuators, and solenoid valves, making it perfect for more demanding marine environments.
It is compatible with high-power pumps such as Simrad RPU160 and RPU300, mechanical actuators like Simrad DD15, as well as hydraulic linear actuators in the HLD2000 series. By using Simrad's Virtual Rudder Feedback (VRF) technology, the need for a physical rudder position sensor is eliminated for boats with outboard motors or drives, making installation simpler and cheaper. For boats requiring a physical rudder position sensor, the NAC-3 supports both SimNet- and NMEA 2000®-connected RF25 units as well as Simrad RF300, providing a flexible solution depending on the boat's needs.
Installation is smooth thanks to the NMEA 2000® network and NMEA 0183® input, allowing easy connection to heading sensors, rudder position sensors, and autopilot control units. Its plug-and-play connection reduces wiring requirements and makes integration with the rest of the boat's systems quick and easy.
It is based on Simrad's Continuum control technology, which provides safe and precise autopilot steering in all weather and conditions. This makes the NAC-3 a reliable solution for larger vessels requiring accurate and responsive steering.
The NAC-3 is designed for easy mounting on a bulkhead and has compact dimensions of 204 x 190 x 57 mm (8.1 x 7.5 x 2.2"), making installation flexible and smooth even in tight spaces. It supports a voltage of 12/24VDC (+30 -10%) and has a power consumption of max. 750W, making it powerful enough for larger systems with higher energy demands.
