The NAC-2 Autopilot Computer is the central component of your autopilot system and contains all the necessary electronics to control and interact with other important components onboard. Specifically designed for boats up to 10 meters (35 feet), the NAC-2 is perfect for driving hydraulic steering pumps with low current, mechanical drive units, and solenoid valves. This makes it an ideal solution for smaller recreational boats and motorboats that require a reliable autopilot.
Installation of the NAC-2 is simple thanks to its plug-and-play connection via an NMEA 2000® network. This minimizes wiring and makes installation quick and smooth. Through the NMEA 2000® network, you can easily connect heading sensors, rudder position sensors, autopilot control units, and multifunction displays anywhere onboard.
With the NAC-2, you can power a range of different systems onboard, including Simrad RPU80 hydraulic pumps, Simrad SD10 mechanical drive units, HLD350 hydraulic linear drive units, as well as solenoid valves for low current. This makes the system versatile and compatible with a variety of steering systems, allowing the NAC-2 to be adapted to your specific needs.
Thanks to Simrad's Virtual Rudder Feedback technology (VRF), the need to install a separate physical rudder position sensor on boats with outboard motors or drives is eliminated. This simplifies installation and reduces costs, especially when a physical rudder position sensor would be impractical. For boats that require a physical rudder position sensor, the NAC-2 also supports Simrad RF25 rudder position sensors and resistive sensors, providing maximum flexibility in the system's configuration.
The NAC-2 uses Simrad's Continuum control technology, which guarantees reliable and precise autopilot control. It provides you with safe and efficient steering regardless of weather conditions, making it an indispensable tool for anyone who wants safe navigation at sea.
