The 285-Series Circuit Breaker is a compact and reliable circuit breaker that combines a switch and circuit protection in a single unit. It is easy to install as a drop-in replacement for 185-Series Circuit Breakers and is designed for marine and vehicle applications.
It has a "Trip Free" design, which means it cannot be held on during a fault current, providing extra safety. The breaker has a visible reset lever that clearly shows when it has tripped and is in the open position. It is waterproof and meets SAE J1171 ignition protection standards, making it safe for use in gasoline-powered boats and other potentially explosive environments. It is also weather-resistant, making it perfect for use in both tough marine environments and outdoor conditions.
The breaker handles 40A continuous current and can interrupt up to 3000A at 48V DC, making it reliable even at high currents and motor starts. M6 terminal studs accept 1/4" ring terminals, providing strong and stable connections. The breaker is also ignition protected, making it safe for use in gasoline-powered boats and other vehicles.
