The VE.Direct LoRaWAN EU863-870 module enables you to connect your BMV, MPPT, or Phoenix inverter to Victron's remote management portal (VRM). By connecting your devices, you can easily monitor the system from your computer or mobile phone wherever you are. On the VRM portal, you can access information such as battery status, solar energy, and much more. The VRM portal is free and available 24/7. The module uses LoRaWAN, a wireless network that transmits on the 868 MHz frequency in the EU region and provides long range with low power consumption.
The VE.Direct LoRaWAN EU863-870 module can send updates once an hour via the LoRaWAN network "The Things Network." If you do not have coverage in your area, you can add your own LoRaWAN gateway. The module is compatible with all MPPT chargers with VE.Direct port, BMV 700 series, BMV 712 Smart series, and Phoenix inverters with VE.Direct port. Note that it is not compatible with the SmartShunt series or Peak Power Packs.
Installation is simple, and the module comes with a 1.5-meter VE.Direct cable, RPSMA antenna, and a 1.5-meter power cable with inline fuse. It automatically collects data from connected VE.Direct devices and sends updates to the VRM portal, enabling real-time system monitoring.
The module has very low power consumption, using only 15 mA when used with a 12V system, 8.5 mA with a 24V system, and 5.5 mA with a 48V system. This makes it an energy-efficient solution suitable for various battery voltages while minimizing the load on your system.
The module's LED indicators show connection status and any error messages, making it easy to see if everything is working as it should. With its low power consumption, the module is an efficient and reliable solution for long-term use, whether you are monitoring solar energy systems or battery status in real time.
