Orion-Tr 24/12-20A (240W) DC-DC ISO is a non-isolated DC-DC converter that offers safe and stable power supply for 24V systems with an output power of 240W and an output current of 20A, making it ideal for a variety of applications where a stable and reliable power supply is required. It is designed with high efficiency, ensuring that the unit operates efficiently with up to 95% efficiency at full load.
A non-isolated converter has a direct electrical connection between input and output. This means that the input and output share the same grounding point. The non-isolated design is more compact and efficient because there are fewer components, making it suitable for applications where galvanic isolation is not an issue. This charger is mainly used to charge a secondary battery (e.g., a consumption battery) from a primary battery system or a generator in vehicles, boats, or motorhomes.
This converter is equipped with a remote on/off terminal, eliminating the need for a high-current switch in the input cables. You can easily control the unit via a low-current switch or by connecting it to the engine start/stop switch, providing smooth and flexible control.
Orion-Tr is also designed to be safe and durable. It is short-circuit protected and can be connected in parallel with other units to increase output current, meaning you can connect an unlimited number of units in parallel to meet larger current demands. It is also protected against high temperatures, and the output current is automatically adjusted if the ambient temperature becomes too high.
With IP43 protection (when the unit is installed with the screw terminals facing down), it is built to withstand demanding environments and provide long-lasting performance. The screw terminals make installation easy, without the need for special tools, making it quick to install and use.
Note that this converter has an adjustable output voltage, but it is not intended for battery charging. For battery charging purposes, the Orion-Tr Smart models are recommended.
