RS40-B VHF marine radio with AIS transponder in class B and built-in GPS is a powerful and reliable solution for safer sailing. This VHF radio gives you the ability to both see and be seen by other AIS-equipped boats nearby, thanks to the built-in AIS transponder in class B. The radio transmits your boat position to surrounding vessels while monitoring their positions, helping you avoid collisions, especially in crowded harbors and waterways. AIS information can easily be displayed on the built-in screen or transferred to a compatible chartplotter or radar for increased overview.
RS40-B is equipped with a built-in GPS receiver, providing accurate positioning without the need for an external antenna. This makes the radio a versatile tool for safe navigation and communication at sea. In addition to its communication functions, the radio supports class D DSC, which means you can use it for emergency calls and other safety features reliably.
A major advantage of the RS40-B is the detachable handheld microphone, which can be connected both on the front and back of the radio. With optional extension cables, the microphone and radio can be mounted separately, making installation flexible and smooth without creating cable clutter. For example, the radio can be mounted on the ceiling while the microphone is connected in an easily accessible place on the panel.
For even greater freedom, you can also add up to two optional HS40 wireless handsets. These handsets duplicate the radio's display and controls, giving you remote access to all important functions anywhere on board. This is especially convenient if you want to communicate freely around the boat, and the wireless handsets can also be used as an intercom on board, facilitating communication between different parts of the boat.
The radio is also compatible with both NMEA 0183® and NMEA 2000®, making it easy to integrate with other marine systems on board. You can also add an optional megaphone or external speaker to improve sound distribution, which is useful for communication over the deck or during emergencies.
