NAC-3 VRF Core Pack is a powerful autopilot solution designed for boats over 10 meters (35 feet). The heart of the system is the NAC-3 autopilot computer, which manages steering by driving the hydraulic steering pump or mechanical drive unit. This autopilot computer is designed to handle high-current pumps and solenoid valves with a capacity of 30 amps continuous (max 50 amps), making it ideal for larger vessels requiring higher power.
With B&G Reflex sailing algorithms, NAC-3 offers precise and reliable steering under all conditions. It works together with key components such as heading sensors and rudder angle sensors to ensure accurate and efficient navigation. Additionally, installation is easy thanks to plug-and-play functionality, minimizing hassle when integrating the system into your existing NMEA 2000® network.
The package also includes the Precision-9 compass, which provides accurate data on heading and turn rate through solid-state sensor technology. It measures motion and rotation on nine axes, enabling very precise heading data with an accuracy of ±2° after calibration. Precision-9 is also waterproof according to IPX7 standard and has an adjustable mounting bracket that makes it easy to install on a bulkhead or mast.
To ensure optimal steering and accuracy, the system can also be easily expanded with a physical RF25 rudder angle sensor if needed. This component allows exact feedback of the rudder angle, further improving the autopilot’s performance.
