Victron Energy LiFePO4 Battery 12.8V/100Ah NG is part of the innovative NG series (Next Generation), which builds on the successful Lithium Smart series and introduces important improvements to meet modern and future energy storage demands. This battery combines high performance, robustness, and advanced features, making it an excellent choice for both private and commercial applications.
The NG series offers several new features, including improved readings of cell voltages and temperatures as well as the ability to build battery banks with a maximum capacity of up to 385 kWh. The battery is available in 12, 24, and 48 V, and its IP65 rating guarantees protection against dust and low-pressure water jets, making it ideal for use in environments where exposure to dust and water is a concern. Easy and secure installation is ensured through the use of brackets and straps.
Victron Energy's Lithium-NG batteries are lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4 or LFP) with a nominal voltage of 12.8 V and a capacity of 100 Ah. The battery can be connected in series, parallel, or a combination of both to build system voltages of 12, 24, or 48 V. Up to 50 batteries can be integrated into a system, allowing for a maximum energy storage of up to 192 kWh in a 12 V system.
The battery is equipped with a built-in shunt that enables the transfer of battery data, such as voltage, current, and temperature, to the BMS (battery management system). The BMS is mandatory and manages all battery parameters automatically, including sensing voltage and the number of batteries in the system. Automatic configuration and control can be done via the VictronConnect app, a GX device, or the VRM portal. Bluetooth support allows you to monitor the battery status in real time, including cell voltages, temperatures, and warnings. The battery’s firmware is automatically updated by the BMS.
With an improved self-discharge rate of less than 2% per month, the battery is extremely energy efficient. It has an efficiency of 92% and a low capacity loss of less than 1% per 100 cycles at 100% DoD (Depth of Discharge). The battery’s cycle life is impressive, with up to 5000 cycles at 50% DoD.
The operating temperature range is wide, from -20 °C to +50 °C during discharge and from +5 °C to +50 °C during charging. The storage temperature ranges from -45 °C to +70 °C, making it suitable for many different conditions. The IP65 protection rating ensures that the battery is resistant to dust and water, contributing to its durability and reliability.
