Argodiode 80-2SC is a separation diode that allows simultaneous charging of two separate battery groups from a generator or battery charger, without these battery groups being connected together. This ensures that discharge of a consumer battery does not affect the starter battery, which helps maintain the starter battery's capacity.
The difference with the "SC" version is that it uses Schottky diodes, which provide a lower voltage drop compared to traditional diodes. At low current, the voltage drop is about 0.2-0.3 V and at maximum load about 0.45 V, which ensures higher efficiency and better charging of the batteries.
The SC model has no energize Input.
It is important to install a separation diode correctly, and expert advice is recommended because incorrect installation can lead to lower charging voltage and insufficient battery charging.
