The Phoenix Smart IP43 12/30 (1+1) 120-230V from Victron Energy is a powerful and advanced battery charger designed to deliver optimal performance and long lifespan for 12V batteries. With a maximum charging current of 30A and two outputs (one full capacity output and one 3A maintenance output), this charger is intended for charging a starter battery.
The wireless Smart IP43 charger has built-in Bluetooth so you can easily configure, monitor, control, and update the charger directly from your phone or tablet via the VictronConnect app.
The charger uses a customizable 5-step charging algorithm that includes bulk, absorption, reconditioning, float, and storage. This algorithm is optimized to suit different battery types (including lead-acid, AGM, gel, and lithium-ion batteries) and automatically adjusts to ensure the charging is gentle and efficient, depending on the battery’s condition and usage. When the battery has not been used for 24 hours, a storage mode is activated that reduces the float voltage to 2.2V/cell (13.2V for 12V batteries). This minimizes gassing and corrosion.
To prevent damage to batteries due to high gassing, the charger has a BatterySafe mode, which controls the voltage increase when charging with high current and high absorption voltage. This feature protects the batteries and extends their lifespan.
The charger has remote control with on/off function that can be connected to a simple switch or relay. Additionally, there is a programmable relay that can be customized via Bluetooth or the VE.Direct interface to trigger on alarms or other events.
