Cable for Smart BMS CL 12/100 to MultiPlus is designed to connect a non-VE.Bus BMS, such as Smart BMS CL 12-100 or smallBMS, to a MultiPlus, including MultiPlus 500VA – 1600VA, MultiPlus Compact 800VA – 2kVA, and MultiPlus-II models. The cable plays an important role by automatically shutting down the MultiPlus as soon as the BMS detects an alarm condition for low voltage, high voltage, or elevated temperature in a Victron lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) Smart Battery Bank. When the alarm is resolved, the MultiPlus automatically turns on again and returns to normal operation.
The cable connects to the remote on/off connection on the MultiPlus models. For MultiPlus 500VA-1200VA, the black cable connects to the ON terminal and the red cable to the (+) terminal. For MultiPlus Compact 800VA-2kVA, the black cable connects to the middle terminal and the red cable to the right (IN) terminal. For MultiPlus-II, the black cable connects to the lower (-) terminal and the red cable to the upper (+) remote terminal.
For the MultiPlus to operate, the Load/Charge Disconnect outputs from Smart BMS CL 12-100 and the Load/Charger outputs from smallBMS must be in "high" state. In case of shutdown due to low battery voltage, the system can be reset by running the generator or using a battery charger on the primary side of the BMS. The MultiPlus will then start and begin charging if connected to an AC source.
