The 285-Series Circuit Breaker is a reliable and robust automatic fuse that combines a switch and circuit protection in one unit. It is ideal for marine and vehicle applications, and is perfect as a replacement for 185-Series Automatic Fuses.
It has a visible reset lever that clearly shows when the fuse has tripped and is in the open position. The "Trip Free" design ensures that the breaker cannot be held on after tripping, providing extra safety in case of fault current. The breaker is ignition protected and meets SAE J1171 standards for external ignition protection, making it safe for use in gasoline-powered boats and other potentially explosive environments. It is also weather resistant, making it durable even in harsh outdoor conditions.
It handles 70A continuous current and can break up to 3000A at 48V, making it a safe and reliable solution for high load systems. The breaker has M6 terminal studs that accept 1/4" ring terminals, and it has a terminal stud torque of 50 in-lb (5.65 Nm) for secure connection.
