BEP Battery Switch On/Off 48V Max. 275A Continuous is a high-quality switch with several unique features that make it an excellent choice for marine and other demanding applications. This switch offers up to 275A continuous current, making it ideal for battery systems with high current demands.
It has the patented Contour Locking System, which allows it to be used as a standalone unit or locked together with other switches in the Contour series. This system provides great flexibility during installation, making it easier for the user to create a cohesive power system. The knob can be removed by turning it 45 degrees counterclockwise, providing extra security against unauthorized use.
With its replaceable label system, available through BEP-713 or 715, this switch can be customized for a variety of applications. Additionally, the switch has three removable sides for easy access to cables up to 55mm², as well as a rear cover that protects the terminals against short circuits and ensures the switch meets ABYC requirements.
The switch is tested according to BEP marine test standards (UL 1107) and withstands continuous operation (1 hour), intermittent loads (5 minutes), and starting currents (engine start - 10 seconds). The tests confirm that the switch can handle current during the specified time intervals without the terminals exceeding 100°C. The continuous and intermittent ratings are tested to 110 percent of the specified ratings. BEP switches are also independently tested by third-party laboratories to ensure reliability and performance.
The switch's tinned copper terminals and nuts provide excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance, making it ideal for marine environments. It is also spark-proof for extra safety and can be mounted either surface-mounted or flush by cutting a 2.1" (52 mm) hole.
