Battery Balancer is a device that balances the state of charge for two series-connected 12V batteries or multiple circuits of series-connected batteries. When the charging voltage in a 24V system exceeds 24V, the balancing unit is activated to compare the voltages across the two batteries. The unit loads the battery with the higher terminal voltage with a current up to 1A, which equalizes the charge between the batteries.
The resulting difference in charging current ensures that both batteries reach the same charge level, preventing uneven wear on the batteries and increasing their lifespan. If needed, multiple balancing units can be connected in parallel to handle larger systems, and a 48V system can be balanced with three units for optimal performance.
