Smart BMS CL 12/100 is an advanced battery management system developed for Victron's lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) smart batteries, and is optimized for 12 V systems with a 12 V generator. The system monitors and protects each individual battery cell in the battery or battery bank and ensures that the generator, charging source, or DC loads are disconnected under risky conditions such as low battery voltage, high battery voltage, or overtemperature.
The generator input on the BMS CL 12/100 controls current in one direction from the generator to the battery and sets a current limit to protect the system. This allows generators of all sizes and starter batteries to be safely connected to the smart lithium batteries or other battery banks.
The unit is equipped with a remote on/off function, allowing the BMS and system to be turned off via a remote switch. Additionally, the system has a pre-alarm contact that provides a warning before the BMS disconnects the batteries from the system, providing extra safety and control.
