The NG series has improved features such as detailed reading of cell voltages and temperatures as well as support for building battery banks with a maximum capacity of up to 385 kWh. Victron Energy's Lithium-NG batteries are lithium iron phosphate batteries (LiFePO4 or LFP) with a nominal voltage of 12.8 V and a capacity of 300 Ah. The batteries can be connected in series, parallel, or combined in series/parallel to create system voltages of 12, 24, or 48 V. Up to 50 batteries can be connected in a system, enabling energy storage of up to 192 kWh in a 12 V system.
The battery is equipped with a built-in shunt that transfers data such as voltage, current, and temperature to a battery management system (BMS). The BMS is a mandatory component that automatically manages all battery parameters, including system voltage and the number of batteries. Via the VictronConnect app, a GX device, or the VRM portal, the user can easily monitor the battery status. The Bluetooth function enables real-time monitoring of cell voltages, temperatures, and warning messages, and the battery's firmware is automatically updated by the BMS.
The improved self-discharge rate of less than 2% per month makes this battery extremely energy efficient. It has an efficiency of 92% and a low capacity loss of less than 1% per 100 cycles at 100% DoD (Depth of Discharge). With a cycle life of up to 5000 cycles at 50% DoD, this battery is a long-term and sustainable investment.
The operating temperature ranges from -20 °C to +50 °C during discharge and from +5 °C to +50 °C during charging.
