B&G Vulcan 9 FS: 9" Multifunction Sailing Plotter is an affordable and versatile plotter, specially designed for coastal sailing and racing. It is equipped with a 9-inch multi-touch screen, which is both intuitive and easy to use, offering features such as SailSteer, SailingTime, RacePanel, and Laylines. These sailing-specific features make the Vulcan 9 an invaluable tool for both recreational sailing and racing. The screen is bright and clear even in direct sunlight, and the responsive touchscreen allows you to easily zoom, swipe, and manage routes and waypoints.
The plotter has built-in GPS with a 10 Hz update rate as well as Wi-Fi, allowing you to stay connected and have access to accurate navigation data at all times. Vulcan 9 is also compatible with Broadband Radar™ and ForwardScan™, enabling you to expand the system to get forward-looking sonar and radar data. It also works seamlessly with NMEA 2000®, making it easy to integrate with your existing system to get data on speed, depth, and wind. Autopilot control is another advantage – you can control your B&G Pilot directly from the screen to change course, tack, gybe, and sail by wind or compass.
Vulcan 9 also has an Ethernet port, which can be used to connect to radar or Sirius connection (USA), giving you even more features and possibilities to expand your installation. With its energy efficiency, the plotter has a typical power consumption of 12 W and a maximum consumption of 20 W, and it supports a voltage of 12V (10–17V), making it both economical and easy to power.
This unit is waterproof according to IPX6 and IPX7, meaning it is resistant to water and can handle even tough marine conditions. With its compact dimensions of 243 mm x 171 mm x 83 mm (without mount), the Vulcan 9 is easy to install, and it can be mounted either on a bracket or directly on a panel.
With Vulcan 9, you can plan routes with a single touch and take advantage of automatic routes, where the software helps you choose the safest path to your destination. Thanks to Vulcan 9's user-friendly interface, like a tablet or smartphone, it is perfect for both beginners and experienced sailors.
