NAC-2 VRF Core Pack is a reliable and powerful autopilot package designed for boats up to 10 meters (35 feet) in length. At the heart of the system is the NAC-2 autopilot computer, which manages steering and collaborates with other key components such as course sensors and rudder position sensors. It can drive hydraulic steering pumps, mechanical drive units, and electromagnetic valves with a continuous capacity of 8 amperes (max 16 amperes), making it ideal for small to medium-sized boats.
This autopilot uses Simrad Continuum control technology, providing precise and reliable steering under all conditions. NAC-2 VRF Core Pack is specially designed to simplify installation by using Virtual Rudder Feedback (VRF), which eliminates the need for a physical rudder position sensor on boats with outboard motors or INU drives (inboard/outboard). This makes installation faster and easier while reducing costs and complexity.
The package also includes the Precision-9 compass, which provides accurate course data and turn rate through solid-state sensor technology. The compass can be easily installed on all types of boats and offers an accuracy of ±2° after calibration. Together with NMEA 2000® connectivity, you can easily integrate the system with other onboard navigation systems, including multifunction displays and dedicated autopilot controls.
