AP70 Mk2 IMO Pack Solenoid is a dedicated autopilot controller developed to meet the requirements of professional shipping and larger vessels. It replaces the previous models AP70 and AP80, combining the well-proven technical foundation with a new, bright display and modernized software platform.
The system is Wheelmarked for use on SOLAS-classed vessels (IMO, MED-B), making it approved for professional use on everything from smaller workboats to large tankers. The unit is built for robustness, reliability, and easy operation, controlled via a precise rotary knob combined with dedicated buttons for quick access to different steering modes.
The autopilot supports integration of up to six rudders or thrusters, which was previously only possible with the AP80. This makes the system flexible and suitable for complex installations. It is compatible with all common rudder and propulsion types, including waterjets, azipods, Voith-Schneider, conventional rudders, and outboards. It can control hydraulic pumps, solenoids, analog signals, and handshake signals.
AP70 Mk2 offers advanced configuration options with separate settings for low-speed, high-speed, and work modes, allowing optimization of performance for different vessel types, weather conditions, and loads. The No Drift Steering function integrates GPS data to maintain course over ground regardless of wind and current, while navigation steering and route following can be managed via Simrad MFD, Simrad ECDIS, or compatible third-party systems.
For vessels with multiple control stations, support for Command Transfer is available, enabling safe handover of autopilot control between different stations depending on the work mode.
